Tonnetta was born and raised in Strawberry Mansion with Fairmount Park, Smith Playground, the Reservoir, Creek and Rock Garden as her backyard. She is a dedicated educator and community organizer who developed academic enrichment and job readiness programming for youth, in addition to performing her duties as a teacher at Strawberry Mansion High School. As an active member of the Strawberry Mansion community, she serves as a member of the Strawberry Mansion NAC Executive Board, Treasurer of the Friends of East Park as well as several project committees. She has a BS in Human Resources from Indiana University of PA and her MS in Higher Education and Organizational Leadership from Drexel University with additional certifications is Volunteer Management and Citizen Planning. Her goal is to utilize her gifts, leadership skills and philanthropic nature to cultivate life- long learners that will grow the community for future generations.
Denise has lived in Strawberry Mansion for more than 50 years. She has been active in the community for more than 30 years. She was/is involved in a number of organizations: such as Strawberry Mansion CDC, Strawberry Mansion Neighborhood Action Center, Friends of East Park, and the Police Advisory Council. She has been a Committee Person for more than 30 years and serves as the Judge of Elections. She is a mother of a daughter, Lacey and was the mother of a son, Poppee, who made transition in 2009. She loves the Strawberry Mansion community and all that it entails.
Lenora is a long time resident of the Strawberry Mansion section of North Philadelphia. She is currently the Executive Director of the Strawberry Mansion Neighborhood Action Center, Inc. however; she wears many hats in her community. She is the Treasurer of the Strawberry Mansion Community Development Corporation, serves on the Strawberry Mansion Health Center Advisory Board. She is a member of the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging, Wellness Center (Project H.O.M.E.), block captain association, Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, Philadelphia Green Advisory Board, Action United, North Central Stakeholders group. She enjoys community advocacy. She is also a member of the Garden of Prayer World’s Prayer Center, under the leadership Pastor John H. Roberts, Sr., where she service as President of Hospitality, and is a member of the Usher and Trustee boards
Ms. Crawford has been active in housing in the city of Philadelphia for over 20 years. She began her career as a Housing Activist, and Fiscal Officer for the Tenant Action Group of Philadelphia in the early 80’s. In 1991, she joined Pennrose Management Company as a
Subsidized Housing Property Manager for West Diamond Street Apartments, and Mansion Court Apartments, and several other properties in the city. In 2001 she joined Based Construction Group, Inc. as a Construction Manager for seven years. Today she is the Administrative Assistant to the Director for Strawberry Mansion Neighborhood Action Center, and Board Member of Strawberry Mansion Community Development Corporation.
Born and raised in North Philadelphia. At the age of 14 years old, he found his passion for volunteering and advocating for his community. He worked with the Haram bee Association and Festival as a drill team instructor, food cupboard worker and the youth at the after school program. He also worked for the Wharton Center as the Assistant Director of the Math, Arts, and Reading Camp (MARC Program), a camp for at-risk youth. He worked for the Southwest Community Development Corporation until 2003. Following that position he was hired at the South Lehigh Action Council, Inc. and two years later and he became the Community Liaison for the Strawberry Mansion Neighborhood Action Center, Inc. Tyrone has received his Associates of Arts degree from the University of Phoenix and is currently enrolled to receive his Bachelors in Human Services from the University of Phoenix. He currently is a member of the following boards: Strawberry Mansion Community Development Corporation, Strawberry Mansion Health
Center Advisory Board and the Friends of East Park Board. Mr. Williams was ordained as a Deacon in 2001 under the Pastoral Leadership of Rev. Samuel Moore at the First Genesis Baptist Church in Southwest Philadelphia. Mr. Williams believes that he should let the life he lives speak for him.
Priscilla, affectionately known as “Ms. Tee”, was born in Philadelphia and has been a resident of the Strawberry Mansion Community for over 15 years. She earned her degree in Early Childhood Education from Chestnut Hill College. She has been employed at Project HOME for 14 years where she is currently working as a kindergarten/first grade teacher. Her community involvement includes: 22nd Police District Advisory Board, Honickman Learning Center Advisory Board, Project HOME CDC and Strategic Planning Committee, Strawberry Mansion NAC board, Greater Philadelphia Food Bank Advisory Board and the RR Wright H &S Association
